C'est sur Twitter que l'écrivain Brian Herbert a annoncé travaillé sur une adaptation comics du célèbre roman Dune, écrit par son père, Frank Herbert. La version comics prendra la forme de trois graphic novel. Le script sera co-écrit par Kevin J. Anderson, et les deux scénaristes nous promettent une adaptation fidèle. Ensemble, ils avaient déjà écrit en 1999 un préquel à Dune, intitulé Dune: House Atreides, qui sera lui aussi adapté en comics.

Ce n'est pas la première fois qu'il y a un comics Dune, puisque Marvel avait sorti en 1985 une adaptation du film de David Lynch écrite par Ralph Macchio et dessinée par Bill Sienkewicz. Pour cette nouvelle version, aucun éditeur, aucun dessinateur ni aucune date n'ont été annoncés.
